Branch Manager will be responsible for all the business and operational activities of the branch. He/she will manage staff, foster a positive environment and ensure customer satisfaction and proper branch operations. Branch Manager will be committed to the expansion and success of the business by implementing strategies that increase productivity and enable sales targets achievement.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Activities
Branch Manager will be responsible to:
- Assess potential area and assign territories to the respective Customer Relationship Officers.
- Ensure that the branch targets will be met.
Job Description
Organize prospecting and communication actions in the vicinity of the branch by assigning tasks and targets to customer relationship officers to achieve overall targets of the branch. Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales opportunities. Stay abreast of competing arkets and provide reports on market movement and penetration to the Management.
- Identify customers’ needs and propose new products/services to the Management of the Bank.
- Ensure that the credit appraisal and screening of the customers are according to the credit guidelines.
- Manage overall portfolio of the Branch.
- Ensure that loan applications and loan appraisals are processed by customer relationship officers according to the Bank’s policies, procedures and guidelines with special attention to completeness of documentation manually as well as in the system module.
- Ensure timely repayments of due instalments from customers in order to maintain a healthy portfolio of the branch.
- Approve credit as per assigned limits.
2. Cash Management Activities
- Monitor daily recoveries of cash in hand as well as its proper reporting to the respective department.
- Ensure that safe keys should be properly handled as per the defined guidelines and any change in keys’ custody should be documented as per procedure.
- Monitor petty cash expenses within the assigned limits as defined by the Management.
3. Reporting Activities
- Ensure that the required and accurate various business reports should be submitted to the Area Manager/ Regional Business Head in a timely manner.
- Ensure that the standard set of documents supporting cash management activities should be submitted to the respective Departments.
- Highlight issues (if any) related to the job to the immediate supervisor.
4. Internal Control Activities
Ensure compliance/rectification of the observations/issues/irregularities highlighted by the Internal/ External Audit Department/SBP.
Ensure that prescribed procedures are being followed by the Branch to avert any inconvenient situation which may arise during the annual inspection by the Regulator/Internal/ External Auditor.
- Human Resources Management activities
- Branch Manager will be responsible to:
- Identify potential candidates as per branch expansion plans or to full fill immediate need that may occur due to attrition.
- Assess performance of the branch staff against set targets.
- Submit leave plan of the branch staff on annual basis to HR Department.
- Refer to HR department any unexpected HR issue that may arise in the branch.
- Administrative activities
- Branch Manager will be responsible to:
- Ensure that all fixed assets should be kept in good conditions and are tagged / recorded properly
- Inform to the respective departments if any assets are not in proper condition.
- Ensure that the branch should have sufficient stock of stationery and other consumable goods needed in the branch.
- Ensure that the branch overall appearance should be properly maintained.
- Ensure that the security guards should be on duty and are effectively providing the branch with sufficient security. Ensure to intimate to Administration Department any lapse of security issue in the branch.
- Ensure that the regulatory compliances should be met and compulsory registers and notice board should be updated and properly maintained.
- Any other job as assigned by the Immediate Supervisor/Management.

Job Specification
- Graduate preferably Commerce or Business
- Preferably 04 years’ experience in managing Branch in Microfinance sector
