Job Description:

Objective 1

To oversee technical capacity building and follow up of partners and other counterparts

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Design and conduct Trainings for ER2 partners.

·         Develop training and other IEC materials, manuals and methodologies as required for the programme.

·         Follow up on field level implementation as per technical standards;

·         Provide further trainings as required to expand partner capacities;

·         Provide trainings beyond our partners as required;

·         Perform spot checks of quality implementation as per technical standards.

Objective 2

To support technical design of entire programme

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Contribute to DIP, designing & follow up of SBCC plan, MEAL Plan & CVR plan.

·         Collaborate with relevant personnel for designing and implementation.

·         Contribute to design, implementation & follow-up of LFA activities and output.

·         Contribute to development of SOP’s, procurement plan, supply plan, disbursement plan, MEAL plan and their implementation.

·         Contribute to development of reporting mechanisms/tolls.

·         Ensure follow up & reporting (monthly, quarterly, monthly) on program implementation in liaison/collaboration with ER2 partners.

·         Contribute to operational (Fin & Log) planning & reporting.

·         Ensure to stay alert as to changes in relevant protocols and policies related to CMAM & IYCF, and revise PINS approaches accordingly;

·         Support development and roll out of SBCC plan and research studies.

·         Present technical design to partners and seek inputs from partners before finalisation.

Objective 3

To lead technical backstopping at the field level

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Regularly (at least 50% of time) visit the field to provide on the ground technical backstopping;

·         Identify trends & issues and seek resolution of these issues with the PINS Tech Co.

·         Support leadership of TWGs & other collaborative activities in liaison with ER2 partners.

·         Participate in district & provincial level meetings for review of programmes for providing technical solutions in collaboration with Divisional team;

Objective 4

To perform external representation as required

Tasks & responsibilities

·         Represent Action Against Hunger at the provincial and district level as required;

·         Minute any such representation and provide these minutes in a timely manner.

·         Prepare briefings & PPT’s for such representations.

Objective 5 (Gender)

To ensure inclusion across programming and within/by the team

Tasks & responsibilities

·          Support mission level qualification for gender marker;

·          Encourage inclusion within recruitment, training and promotion;

·          Ensure inclusion within programme planning, implementation and reporting;

·          Identify and mentor gender focal points in coordination with HR.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Mandatory

·         Master's or Bachelor’s degree in relevant field (nutrition, public health or medicine) with minimum 04 years of overall experience with 02 years in relevant field in development sector

OR

Bachelor's degree in relevant field with minimum 06 years’ overall experience with 04 years in relevant field in development sector.

·         Excellent analytical ability on programs and positioning; Strong networking skills;

·         Good written and verbal communication in English;

·         Excellent interpersonal skills, Good resource and time management skills

·         Computer literate, knowledge of MS Word and Excel required

·         Experience working in Sindh

·         Willingness to travel frequently

Preference

·         Sindhi language skills;

·         Experience with EU grants;

·         Experience working within complex matrix based organizational structures;

·         Managerial skills with proven ability to manage a demanding workload

·         Experience within a large national or international organization;

·         Experience working in development projects

·         Experience working closely with Government of Sindh.
